Personal Overview

Rene Mukanzi is an A Level student, who will complete his year 13 in May 2024 and a gifted Rugby Player.

Rene has been playing Rugby since he was 11 years old. He has been identified a great qualified player by his current club, due to his impressive performance in local and international tournaments. Previously while back in his home country, he participated in five local tournaments, where out of the five, he holds two gold medals from wins he and his teammates achieved.

Rene joined Mwamba club in Kenya in July 2023, and plays for the under 20 team. He is currently training to play for the Kenya Naitonal under 20 team. He previously played for Bahrain Rugby Club from January 2019 to June 2023. With his team, the Bahrain Colts, he has participated in three international tournaments one of which the Colts were the second runners-up. He holds the Silver Medal for this achievement. 

In March 2023, Rene with the Colts Team won the under 19 Regional Rugby tournament in Muscat and holds a gold medal for this achievement, while the team proudly holds the trophy for this achievement.

During season games, home matches, and tournaments against teams from across the region, Rene has played several and has been a valuable player. Last year, he made the final winning try when Bahrain played against Khobar, in the last match of the Rugby season. This year he has scored three try's out of five in the Colt's last game of the season. He is a very tenacious player and has a phenomenal work rate on the field. He is an extraordinarily strong tackler and an excellent ball carrier with an impressive understanding of the game. He is a quick thinker and decision-maker, making him a valuable asset in any team.

He has attended online school since the Covid pandemic, and so he has immersed himself in training for the sport in his spare time. His work ethic is second to none and he is always pushing himself to improve his skills on the field. He consistently engages in strength and conditioning training in addition to regular team practice sessions.

Rene's goal is to play at the highest level and understands that it will take a lot of effort and commitment to get there. He is excited about pursuing this goal and is confident with the right guidance and support he can reach his full potential as a rugby player. He is very enthusiastic about the game and would like to nurture his talent further.
