Personal Overview

Hi my name is Robin Murray

For the last four years I have been lucky enough to be involved with the Ikey Tigers. During this time I have competed in a number of tournaments the highlight of which would have been the winning of the varsity cup final in 2014. while playing for the Ikey tigers I completed my undergraduate at the university of Cape Town. I am currently studying a diploma in marketing and advertising and wish to travel towards the end of 2016 and into 2017. I thoroughly enjoy my rugby and would greatly cherish the opportunity to make use of this interest in order to assist with my travels should it present it's self.

To Whom It May Concern:
I Hanyani Shimange have know Robin Murray at UCT rugby club since 2012 when I was forwards coach of the 1 St. team, I had the opportunity to coach him both in the Varsity Cup and league competitions.

Robin was a true Varsity man and epitomized the true values of what the club stood for. He was selfless in his actions and was always willing to put the needs of the team ahead of his own. He was a popular member of the squad a great team man and someone who could lift the spirit of the team through his enthusiasm and personality. As a prop he is technically brilliant and is an aggressive scrummager who rarely takes a back footstep. His fitness levels allowed him to contribute in the loose putting him amongst the top contributors in tackles ruck counts and general involvements. He has a good understanding of the game and fantastic skills for a tight forward allowing him to make good decisions in the right areas of the field. Robin is a very bright student of the game has an excellent grasp of both defense and attacking structures. He had the rare ability to combine both his studies and rugby needs successfully and was a great example to the other players. His good nature and eagerness to learn made him a pleasure to coach. I personally wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him for your university his inclusion in your program will only add value Should you wish to speak with me for further recommendations for Robin please mail me at

Yours faithfully
Hanyani Shimange
