Personal Overview
I am from South Africa. Growing up as a youngster it was always my dream to go play rugby overseas and I have taken all the effects and consequences into account. Not only will it be a dream accomplished to play abroad , but it would be an opportunity to showcase and measure myself with the top people of the world. If given this opportunity I will grab it with both hands and embrace the challenges that follow and uphold my. family in a good manner.I still recall my days growing up as a boy. My parents worked extremely hard to send me to a proper primary school where I could be able to obtain a distant education. No more motivation was needed basically I was the one that needed to ensure that a proper foundation was formed. Ever since I have believed in the phrase that where I come from we struggle and my family is my motivation. With that phrase printed in my mentality things started to go well and success started to follow me and it was no magic when high schools were offering me scholarships from all over South Africa.
Being offered scholarships when I was departing my primary school was a magnificent gesture. I have always believed staying local was my key to my future but growing up in a town that wasn’t developed meant that I was forced to go to a new place. Having many options but I had to make my mind up and choose. Durban High School ( commonly known as DHS ) is the place where I thought I would make my dreams become a reality. A proud school with a proud tradition and proud legacy dating back to the 18th century and exciting future. Being offered so many opportunities at all levels irrespective of sport or academics , it was all left to the individual to take the path that was suitable for him.
I am a talented individual in sports and DHS has helped me to make my talent become a reality. My high school is among the top schools in South Africa so in terms of sports we competed with the top pupils from the country. Given that opportunity I was able to express my talent at all levels. It was no surprise when I received offers from various rugby unions in South Africa.
Taking the offers into account and thinking about my career and the exposure I will get from these rugby unions. I wasn’t fully happy with the terms and conditions of the offers and also the chance of making it big wasn’t promised to me irrespective if I worked hard.
Going aboard I truly believe that it will give me an edge in terms of making it big. I can easily adapt to a new environment and love to embrace the challenges of the unknown place. Coming from a well orientated background and well-mannered family it will just be a disgrace to uphold the family name In vein.
