Personal Overview

Taariq Kruger is an explosive ball-carrier who breaks tackles and gets over the advantage line. He is also a good lineout jumper and defender.

Kruger was part of the UCT (University of Cape Town) 1st XV that won the 2023 World University Rugby Invitational Tournament in France and participated in his fourth Varsity Cup campaign in 2024. He played in the Varsity Cup final in 2021 and in the semi-finals the following year.

Kruger has also played provincial rugby, for Griquas at the U13 Craven Week and U16 Grant Khomo Week, for the Sharks at the U18 Academy Week, and for Western Province in the SA Rugby U21 Championship. He also trained with the WP senior team in 2022.

Currently, he is making his way to Spain to play for Gernika for the 2024-25 season.
