Personal Overview

Connor O’Brien is a seasoned prop with representative experience playing both Loosehead

and Tighthead.

The New Zealander – who has Scottish ancestry via his grandfather – is a powerful

scrummager, a strong ball-carrier and a committed defender.

Recently part of the performance squad for the Manawatu Turbos, O’Brien has now been

shoulder tapped to qualify for Buller in the Heartland Championship.

He has played

premier-level club rugby in Canterbury and Auckland, winning the Counties Manukau

Premier competition in 2022.

He has also been selected for various representative teams, including Waitaha (senior

Canterbury representative rugby), and was in the wider training squad for the Counties

Manukau provincial B team.

Currently Connor is preparing for the upcoming provincial season with Buller and is looking for further professional opportunities abroad.
