Personal Overview

Hello, My name is Taine and I am a 23 year-old living currently in Timaru, New Zealand. I am mainly a first-five but also can play halfback and fullback. I am currently working for the Sourh Canterbury rugby union as a rugby development officer. Currently, I'm playing club rugby in Timaru at a club called Celtic. For the previous two session I have been playing premier rugby in Christchurch playing for HSOB regularly starting at first five and half back. Also in the last two years I have played for the NZ u85kg national team that has toured Sri Lanka twice.

Some strength I would say about myself is my kicking and passing game. Over lots of coaching and practice, it is an area I find myself being rather strong in this area of the game. I believe having these quality traits as a first five is important as a first five needs to have the ability to find kick space and be a good distributor. Another area of my game that I back and trust is my goal-kicking. This season I have been kicking around the 80% mark and this is an area I pride myself in. Through all grades and teams, since I was a ten-year-old, I have found myself being the first-choice goal kicker. Another area that I have developed in my game is my communication. Being a first five the importance of communicating to the forwards and your outsides is important. The first five is a leader in the team and dictate how and where you want to play in the field.
