Personal Overview

Good Morning/Evening to whoever may be reading this,

My name is Michael Strydom.

I am a New Zealand born rugby player with Tri-citizenship. I am currently 21 years old and playing for the Premier 1st Grade team of Kaikorai in Dunedin.

My goal as a player is to work myself up to earning a profession or semi-professional rugby contract. I am currently on the lookout for a club to play for overseas during the November to February period. I am hardworking and determined individual that will give their 100% every training. I will listen and learn to any new information that is taught to me and develop it into my game.

In 2021, I played with the premier colts of Kaikorai and also was part of the Otago u/19s rep squad. 

In 2022, I played for the Highlanders U20's in their Super Rugby Taupo tournament. I also played for the premier 1st grade team of Kaikorai rugby club in dunedin. After the rugby union season, I went on and played for the South Pacific Raiders 1st grade team in rugby league. I was fortunate enough to be part of the Otago Whalers Rugby leauge rep team as well. I ended up finishing the year also representing the South island scorpions rugby league team.

Last year in 2023, I played premier 1st grade rugby for the kaikorai Rugby club in the Otago metropolitan competition. I then finished off the year by playing for the South pacific raiders in the Otago league competition. This then allowed me to play representitive rugby leagbue for the Otago Whaler Rugby League Team that was newly promoted to the NZRL national competition.
