Hi my name is Brigid Corson. I was born in Australia but have been a resident of New Zealand since I was 3.  I am currently in the process of obtaining N.Z citizenship.

I had not played rugby until I went to Breckenridge, Colorado, USA for the school year of 2015, when I was 14 years old. 

My high school team, the Summit Tigers, had won consecutive state titles. I made great friends and learnt all about rugby from my awesome coach Karl Barth and my great team mates. I played 15’s and 7’s. 

We played in multiple tournaments including winning the state championship, the Las Vegas Rugby 7’s where we placed 5th in North America, and the U.S Rugby 15’s high school nationals placing 2nd.

In 2018 I went back over to the states and played again with the same US high school team at the Las Vegas 7’s tournament.

When I came back to NZ in 2016 I joined the Otago U18 girls rugby team and played for my high school.

In my last year of high school I joined the Pirates Wahine team, I played with them for 4 years. This year I have recently joined a new club, Dunedin sharks. I am really excited for the coming season. I have a love for the game and the training, I enjoy hard work and gaining knowledge from the other players.

I play the positions of Wing and Fullback.

Before rugby my background was track and field. My main events were 100m, 100m hurdles and long jump. In 2017 I placed 4th in NZ nationals at 100m Hurdles.

For the last four years I have been working as a Primary school teacher aid. Teaching and helping children with social, behavioral and learning issues. I love working with children and enjoy everyday as it is always a new day with kids.

I am very interested in playing rugby in another country. Exploring more of the world, furthering my skills/experience and meeting new people.
