Personal Overview

My name is Anele Makongolo and playing rugby is a passion I have. I am both a 15s and a 7s player who is always willing to

learn more on how to improve my understanding of the game which will lead to being a better player.

My primary position is fly half with fullback being my secondary position, however I am also a utility

player in the backline who can also slot it at wing when needed. Having a vision for the game has always

been easy for me as I am a versatile sportsman who has provincial colours not only in rugby, but also

hockey and cricket. Being versatile has helped a lot with my game as I am able to transfer concepts from

other sporting codes and implement in my style of play.

My major strength on the field is my footwork. I say this with the reasoning that I may not be the biggest

on the field but I never back down especially with ball in hand as I have huge confidence in my footwork.

I also have a sharp eye for opening gaps whether I will be taking the gap or putting another player

through the gap. I would also like to list communication as another strength of mine, as the positions I

play have required me to be quite vocal on the field so therefore I always find myself being quite the

vocal one.
