My name is Matty Drennan, im a 24 year old scrum half/ utility back who likes to play an intense, fast paced and physical game. Im confident in my ability to perform accurately under high levels of pressure, as well as being controlled and consistent throughout games. I count on the fact i am more of a physical 9 due to my size and stature which benefits me in defence as well as creating try scoring opportunties. Additionally, I express myself through strong leadership, communication skills and teamwork. Being part of Doncaster Knights Academy allowed me to gain elite level experiences through training with Doncaster Knights who play in the RFU Championship. These experiences helped me develop my skill set and learn off other elite players which shown throughout my time at the academy allowing me to access more opportunities at county level (Yorkshire 20's). I've played at National 3 Midlands and National 3 North for Doncaster Phoenix and played for the North Rugby side which included the top players in that league.  

I'm currently playing for Sheffield in National 2 North and have had experiences at that level before for Rotherham Titans. Playing at this standard is great and I'm constantly learning and adapting my game. 

I am looking at opportunities to play at a higher level and looking for opportunities abroad.
