Personal Overview

Thomas Murray, 28 years of age playing rugby predominantly in Scotland since 2005.

Current location is Whitby, Wellington, New Zealand where I am with Paremata-Plimmerton RFC, the previous season I had a season in Adelaide, Australia with Onakparinga RFC.

The majority of my playing career started off in the front row playing loose-head prop and hooker, however since Augsut 2013 I have converted to a second five-eigth and have maintained this playing position since. Due to my rugby league background, this has made the transition easier and allowed me to develop a range of skills sets in multiple positions, meaning I can cover multiple positions on the park to A grade/First XV standard level.

A good team member, with the experience of over 10 years of first grade rugby and 12 years of senior grade rugby in both rugby union and league. In my time away from rugby I also compete in Crossfit where I can, my passion for health and fitness helps me maintain a great level of fitness all year round and manage my own programming to reflect my rugby fitness.

Key aspects of my rugby playing style is hard ball carrying, great ball passing ability, dominant defensive consistency,  leadership experience and reliability across the season.

Due to me potentially returning to Scotland mid 2020, I would be looking for a club to play for on my return, looking for first xv opportunities and assistance with travel, depending on club location to where I will be returning to which is Dunfermline, Fife initially - however at a later date a closer location for resisdence could be arranged.
