Personal Overview

Bakkies started playing rugby at the age of seven at Pionierspark Primary School in Windhoek, Namibia. He represented his school in every age group up to the u/13 level, playing in all the A teams. He also represented Namibia in the under 13 Craven Week. He played at Eight-Man throughout his primary school career. He captained all teams and also the U/13 Craven Week Team

He joined Grey College in Bloemfontein in 2011 and played for Grey College u/14, u/15, u/16, and u/19 school A teams and U/19 1^st team which he also captained. He represented the Free State Cheetahs at the u/16 Grand Khomo level and the Free State Cheetahs at u/18 level. He also Captained these teams. He played at lock during his high school career at Grey College.

In 2016 he played for the University of the Free State u/19 Young Guns team (Captain) and also represented the Free State Cheetahs at u/19 level Currie Cup Season in which he also captained the team.

In 2017 he represented the University of the Free State u/21 team and also the Free State Cheetahs u/21 team for the Currie Cup Season. In 2018 he also represented the University and Free State Cheetahs at u/21 level and in 2019 he represented the Shimlas in the Varsity Cup.

He was the u/14 A coach for St Andrews School, Bloemfontein in 2018.  In 2019 he was a coach for their u/19 1st team and will be fulfilling this position again in 2020.

Current endeavour 

Bakkies Rossouw is currently studying in Bloemfontein in the Free State. He is studying B.Soc.Sci. Business Management and Psychology and has been entered since 2016 at the University of the Free State (UFS). 

He is registered as a player at the Vipers Rugby Club in Windhoek since 2019.
