Personal Overview

What is Rugby to me? It's a lifestyle, my passion & my dream. I have been involved in the game of rugby as a player for many years, seeing each game as a new challenge & learning curve. Rugby makes me feel that I am part of a team & family. The last 4 years I have widen my horizon by coaching at schools & clubs, teaching the games skills to young boys who share my passion & love for the game. My ultimate dream is to run out on a field & represent a top rugby side proving to myself & everyone that has had faith & supported me in my journey that this is where I belong. All the hard work, training & dedication has paid off. Nothing is ever achieved without hard work & I am ready to give my all to achieve my dream.

I have known Devon for a number of years & had the distinct pleasure of being his coach during 2013 & 2014 when he made the 1st XV rugby team. I can honestly say it was a privilege. Devon is a fairly quiet & unassuming person who has strong convictions of his own & is passionate about everything that he has been involved in. I admire the fact that he will give of his best & has the humility to listen & appreciate advise given. He has strong beliefs & will defend these with a calmness & maturity beyond his years. He is also very passionate in whatever he undertakes & will always go the extra mile. While playing 1st Team rugby for me in these last 2 years, Devon displayed his versatility & skill and has therefore played in a number of positions, both forwards & backs. Devon van Dyk played Rugby for Collegians Colts Rugby Club for the 2013 Season. Devon played for the U18 team. The team had an unbeaten season & went on to win the League.  Devon is an enthusiastic & hard-working player who will be an asset to any team. His enthusiasm is refreshing he is well liked by both Coaches & his Team Mates. I have personally watched Devon play at different levels over the past four years & I can honestly say he has passion for rugby that you won’t find often.
