One of my first jobs was as primary school student educator. My area of teaching was mostly as physical educator where I was trusted in the development of gross and fine motor skills of the children as well as their physical well-being and knowledge of movement and safety. During these lessons/exercises I helped develop their relationship skills, improve their problem solving skills and enhance their self-esteem. Some of my other duties included coaching across various sports, coaching/managing cultural activities (such as voortrekkers), organizing and planning school sports events, assisting in the development of the sport year program, assisting at the provincial trials, and lastly, chaperoning and mentoring on school tours.

Along with being an educator, mentor, organizer, I am also an accomplished rugby and cricket coach with a successful track record of overseeing and coaching various league-winning rugby and cricket teams.

 I also worked for BP Craib Avenue Motors as a Financial Clerk where my duties mostly consisted out of, checking incoming stock and keeping track of the sales and the fuel sales as well as the vat and 0% sales of the business checking up on our account holders for payment and more. I also owned and ran a successful fast-food business on the premises. This has given me priceless experience in marketing, business development, financial management, budgeting, and time-management. I moved on from the BP garage and take away business because I got the opportunity to work at Itec – Welkom as a sales executive, where I am currently employed.

Apart from my normal duties and responsibilities as a sales executive, I do additional tasks for the business such as arranging sponsorships and forming relationships with other types of institutions as well as doing weekly marketing and promotions of our products. Additionally, I make cold calls trying to find new clients, follow up on leads given by my supervisor or create my own leads and then follow up on them. We do PR work to push our brand and make sure that the public is aware of the business and the products that we offer. We previously had exhibition stands at marketing days (such as golf days) and at certain events we would do promotional work, where we are able to enlighten, educate, and inform people of what our business can and do offer.

Currently I am also actively involved in youth development as a high school first team head rugby coach alongside Harmony rugby academy. I mainly coach the U/19A team but assist the younger player with skills and other rugby development. As a team player, I try and work together with the other coaches, biokineticists, and other staff as well as the school principal to ensure alignment through all fields. I regularly arrange meetings with all involved parties to ensure that we are all aligned, and that development is taking place, I am still playing rugby myself whilst being a coach/consultant at current rugby club (Rovers).
