SEASON: 2024/25
Founded in 1930, AAC Rugby Club is one of the most recognized rugby institutions in the Netherlands and the proud host of the world-renowned Amsterdam 7s Tournament, held every June. We are among the very few Dutch clubs competing at the highest level in both the men’s and women’s game – the Ereklasse.
Over the years, AAC has also developed a number of elite players, including the only Dutch Barbarians in history: George de Vries and Samantha Martinez Gion.
At AAC, rugby is for everyone. We field teams for men, women, youth, and veterans – all united by a love for the game and the spirit of inclusivity. Our club is proudly international, with over 20 nationalities represented across our men’s and women’s squads. Most of which are expats living and working in Amsterdam.
In 2024/25 our Women were National Champions, and our men retained their Ereklasse status. For 2025/26 and beyond, our vision is ambitious, and we’re looking for talented, driven players to help us get there.
Interested in joining AAC?
We’d love to hear from you. Please send us your rugby CV along with any recent video footage of your play. We will not consider inqurieis without both.
⚠️ Please note: We are unable to sponsor visas. Applicants must have the right to work in the EU (EU passport or valid permit).
Why Join AAC Rugby Club?
AAC is the only rugby club in Amsterdam offering competitive teams across men’s, women’s, and youth rugby. Located just 4 km from the city centre, our facilities include:
Three rugby pitches, including an all-weather artificial surface
Access to the national team’s state-of-the-art gym, where we run regular strength & conditioning (S&C) sessions
A vibrant clubhouse with a social calendar you won’t want to miss
We train twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 19:30–21:00, with an optional third session focused on S&C and recovery, held in our gym or at a local pool.
What We Offer to the Right Players
For committed players with EU work rights, we may be able to assist with:
Flights
Local job placement (e.g. cafés, construction, carpentry, plumbing, etc.)
Shared accommodation close to our club house and 3-4km from the city centre
Physio and gym
💡 Note: We do not offer retainers or cash payments. Our goal is to build an inclusive and community-driven culture.
What We Expect From You
To be considered, you must:
Hold an EU passport or have an existing EU work visa (we cannot sponsor visas)
Provide recent game footage
Submit a CV/resume for job placement
Provide at least one reference from a previous club or coach
We are especially interested in players who also have experience in skilled trades (e.g. construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work).
