Club Overview

AAC is the oldest Rugby Club in Amsterdam, 94 years old! Home of the Amsterdam 7s tournament and now one of only a handful of clubs in the country who play top flight rugby for Men & Women. We have also produced a number of international players, including Barbarians, George de Vries and Samantha Martinez Gion.

At AAC anyone is invited to play the game. We cater for men, all youth teams, ladies and vets too. Through our long history, many nationalities have turned out for AAC. At the last count, we had over 20 different nationalities in the Mens & Women’s section. Now more than 60% of our mens selection is made up of international expats living and working in Amsterdam. 

Our 1st XV have just won their league and gained promotion to the top level of Dutch rugby (Ereklasse). We have ambitious plans to retain our position and grow quickly within the league.

Club Details

We are the only club in Amsterdam who has men, women and youth rugby available. Our club is approximately 4km from the city centre. Here we have access to 3 pitches, one of which is artificial so we can play in all weather conditions. We also have access to the national teams state-of-the-art gym facility where we have regular S&C sessions.  

In the clubhouse, you can always expect a party. We have two mandatory training sessions per week, Tuesday & Thursday from 19:30 - 21:00 and one optional extra session for S&C and recovery in our gym or local pool. 

For quality players with the right to work in EU, we can support with:

- Flights (within EU)
- A job at a local cafe / labouring / carprentry / plumbing 
- Accomodation in our players house where we have 4 bedrooms close to the club and city 
- Physio & Gym  
- NO RETAINER in any case. We are building an inclusive culture and will not pay any players cash

In return you must have: 

- EU Passport, or visa to work in EU. We cannot sponsor visas. 
- Game video vootage 
- Work CV/Resume 
- At least 1 reference from a previous Club/Coach
- We are particularly interested in players with experience in trades such as labouring / carprentry / plumbing / electricians etc 

If you are also interested in settling in Amsterdam on a more permanent or independant basis and have your own job etc, we can support you with looking for your own accomodation. We have a very broad network within the city.
