Club Overview

Bangalow Rugby http://bangalowrugby.com/  (www.facebook.com/bangalowrugby) welcomes players from around the world: we’ve hosted players from England, Ireland, Wales, New Zealand, Tonga, Italy and Fiji. Bangalow is a small, historic country town in northern New South Wales, between the rainforest mountains and the surf and sand of Byron Bay. Our ground is 15 minutes from Byron Bay and an hour from the Gold Coast, two of Australia’s most famous tourist destinations. The Bangalow Rebels play in the first grade competition of New South Wales Country Rugby in the Far North Coast Zone. In 2021 we finished the regular season in second spot and would have played in the grand final if COVID19 had not shut down the competition. So we have unfinished business and a premiership to win in 2022.

Club Details

We are a small club with a strong sense of community and a drive to win.

The Club goes out of its way to make players from other places feel welcome and to help them find work and accommodation. Other forms of support are available for the right players. We have immediate work opportunities available in the building trades. We are also usually able to place players in rural industry jobs that will qualify them for a second year working holiday visa if they wish.

We have outstanding coaches and strong off-field support.

We provide the opportunity to have a fantastic experience playing good quality rugby in one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the world. It's the closest you'll get to playing rugby in heaven!
