Club Overview

Letterkenny Rugby Football Club (LRFC) is a thriving community-based club located in the heart of County Donegal. Founded in 1973, it has grown from a small group of traveling players into one of the most prominent rugby hubs in the northwest of Ireland.

Grounds & Heritage

The club is headquartered at Dave Gallaher Memorial Park (The Glebe), named in honor of the legendary Ramelton-born man who captained the original New Zealand All Blacks "Invincibles" in 1905. The grounds feature:

  • Top-tier Pitches: Two sand-based, well-drained pitches and floodlit training areas.

  • Modern Clubhouse: A dedicated facility opened in 2014 that serves as the social heart of the club.

Club Culture

Letterkenny RFC is known for its "grassroots" ethos. Beyond the sport, it acts as a vital community hub, frequently hosting social events and charity fundraisers. Its motto and identity are deeply tied to the "Gallaher" legacy, blending local Donegal pride with international rugby history.
