Club Overview

Founded in 1958, the Sarnia Saints Rugby Football Club has been a integral pillar club of rugby in Southwestern Ontario for decades. The Club has offered the Sarnia-Lambton community the opportunity to learn, enjoy, and compete in the international game of rugby union. They endeavor to instill the core values of rugby to its members, namely; teamwork, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.

With their men's side having recently experienced tremedous success by winning the Niagara Rugby Union League and Cup in 2023, they were promoted to Ontario's premiere Marshall League competition in 2024. Throughout the season they did face challenges at this higher standard, but competed strongly all season and remain committed to continuing their growth and development. What's more, the Saints Men have a culture of touring and strive to embrace all of the unique social and cultural aspects that the rugby community can offer!

Similarily, their women's side has made good strides in competitiveness and participation in recent years. Women's rugby in Canada has had great results over the past decade, and Sarnia has provided several female athletes to participate in international competitions, notably on the HSBC Sevens Series. The Saints ladies will go on tour to Northern England and Scotland in August of 2025.

Child and Youth Rugby in Sarnia has seen a remarkable surge over the last several years, with participation booming and continuing to grow under strong leadership and commitment from it's youth coaches and directors.

Finally, the Sarnia Saints RFC has a rich history of fostering strong relationships with other community groups. By way of an annual charity fundraising events, the Club routinely provides support for local causes in need.

Sarnia is a city of ~80,000 inhabitants located in southwestern Ontario, Canada, situated on the shores of Lake Huron at the mouth of the St. Clair River, and shares a border crossing with the USA via the Bluewater Bridges. It has a uniquely picturesque waterfront with access to pristine beaches and opportunity for recreational water sports.

It lies about 250km west of Toronto, Ontario and about 90km northeast of Detroit, Michigan. It is a very well located "home-base" city for exploring other land-mark destinations in North America, such as Niagara Falls and Chicago, Illinois.
