Club Overview

CRUC was formed in 1987 and is located on the costa cálida of south east Spain. We play in the regional league of Murcia and we have also entered the Valencia regional leagues where we have had back to back promotions and currently sit in the 1st Valencia league, third tier in Spain. 

It is currently difficult for UK based players to get a visa due to Brexit, it makes it a lot more easy if you have a remote job already. Being able to speak Spanish makes finding a job a whole lot easier too. 

Club Details

We are a small club growing quickly with a men’s, women’s and junior teams. We are looking for experienced players to help us continue with the progress being made and hopefully reach our aim of breaking into the 2nd tier of Spanish rugby. The club's current level of rugby is simular to 2nd tier regional league in England. However if we carry on our current path of development the next league is then the 2nd tier of Spanish rugby. This is a considerable jump, nevertheless the club and players have alot of potential and we are on the right path. 

We are a mixed group of Spanish, Argentinian, Venezuelan, French and English. It is much more like a family than just a club, the guys are very welcoming and go above and beyond to help new players to settle in. 

We have access to a gym at certain hours every day, for free and on top of that we will help you find a flat and a job. Jobs in the area include agriculture, teaching English, working in a bar, helping coach the junior groups, amongst other things. At this moment in time the club is unable to cover any costs but we will do all we can to get things organised for you and help in any way we can. 

The city of Cartagena is 1 hour drive from Alicante airport or 20 minutes from Murcia airport. It is a beautiful port city surrounded by mountains and beaches, with many outdoor sports available and even skiing, a 3 hour drive away in Granada. If you are looking for the Mediterranean lifestyle with a bit of rugby, Cartagena is the place for you.
