Club Overview

The Noosa Dolphins are based at Noosa Heads on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland Australia, about 90 minutes north of Brisbane and an hour south of Fraser Island (K'Gari). We participate in the Sunshine Coast Rugby Union competition. After joining the competition in 1985, our A Grade side have progressed to all but 4 Grand Finals in that time. The club now has 18 A grade premierships to its name, and the result is a strong culture and will to win.

We pride ourselves in being a family club, boasting a junior base of about 400, from under 7's to under 18's. There is a strong connection between the senior and junior clubs, particularly after the two entities combined some 20 years ago. The senior club fields teams in A Grade, Open Womens, Reserve Grade and 3rd Grade. The club is currently in the process of developing a girl's 7's competition for 2024, we are also strongly involved in the Sunshine Coast School's competition.

Our Club was the training base for the British and Irish Lions in 2013 when in Queensland for test matches and we have also hosted the Wallabies and Hong Kong this year. The Melbourne Storm NRL and St Kilda Saints AFL teams established their training base at the Noosa Rugby Club during the Covid period in 2020.

Our players have the opportunity to progress to respresentative duties with the Sunshine Coast Stingrays, South Queensland and ultimiately Queensland Country. We take grade pride in seeing many of our young men progress to the Premier Grade in Brisbane and to successful rugby careers overseas. We have a strong connection with a number of the Brisbane Premier teams including Norths, University and GPS.
