Club Overview

The Vancouver Rowing Club Rugby Section is a rugby club in Vancouver, British Columbia. Known locally as the "Rowers", the club was founded in 1908 and has continued its storied history ever since. In addition to the Rugby section, the Rowing club boasts field hockey, yachting, and rowing sections. The club is located in Vancouver's iconic Stanely Park and the playing field is located at Brockton Oval. Brockton has a rich rugby history within Canada and hosted the "All Blacks" in the late 1990s. The rugby clubhouse is located within the Heritage Rowing Clubrooms located within Stanley Park. Boasting internationally acclaimed facilities, the Rowing Club Rugby club bar opens up onto a patio and dock nestled over the waters of Coal Harbour. 

As a rugby club, the Rowers facilitate two senior men's teams playing in the British Columbia Division 1 and Division 3 competitions and a senior women's team - recent Division 1 champions 2022. The senior men's coaching staff have experience playing professionally across Europe and coaching professionally in the recently formed Major League Rugby competition across North America. The club further runs U19/17 and minis programs throughout the year with many senior players coaching in the local high schools. 

Off the pitch, there is an incredibly active social scene that is based on the shared values and beliefs of inclusivity, respect, and pride. The Rowing club is a proud club that has many club members from all over the world. The rugby section in particular has a strong international community and culture based on the many international players that settle into Downtown Vancouver and the WestEnd and seek community through rugby.
