About Us
The club was reformed in 1954. Highlights have included playing at Twickenham in the final of the national Junior RFU Cup in 1993 and the establishment of the country's first Academy.

As members of the Herts RFU and RFU, Hitchin's 1st XV competes in the London NW3 league whilst the other three senior sides compete in merit tables.

We have a thriving mini & youth section with 620 playing members. All of our youth teams have matches on a regular basis and compete in the Saracens Hertfordshire/Middlesex Leagues and County Championships. .

Our Hitchin Ladies squad is growing and contributes brilliantly to the club. Their consistency and ambitious expansion plans has seen them promoted to National Championship league East.

Currently our playing membership stands at over 850 people and club membership at almost 2000 when family, VPs and associate members are included. The majority of our members are everyday working professionals involved with various trades and professions including; students, teachers, designers, lawyers, carpenters, doctors, engineers, police officers and even an Estate Agent.

From a geographic standpoint, our members live and work in towns and villages all over the North Herts/South Beds area and originally hail from countries all over the world, including; Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Hungary, Portugal, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand as well as England.

The club has been awarded the Seal of Approval by the RFU for the coaching and welfare of children & young persons, including child protection.

All of these factors, along with individual member commitment, a CAMRA award winning bar, an extensive community development programme and a thriving Mini & Youth Section contribute to Hitchin RFC being probably the best rugby club in Hertfordshire in all physical, competitive and social aspects.
